De kern van het systeem wordt gevormd door de KERN CFS 6K0.1 referentieweegschaal , die ook zelfstandig kan functioneren. Deze precisieweegschaal is eenvoudig te bedienen met het numerieke toetsenbord, waarmee gebruikers referentiehoeveelheden, bekende referentiegewichten of streefwaarden kunnen invoeren. Voor de overzichtelijkheid gebruikt het systeem drie afzonderlijke displays om het totaalgewicht, het referentiegewicht en het totale aantal stuks weer te geven. Een geheugen (PLU) kan maximaal 100 artikelen opslaan, inclusief tarragewichten, referentiegewichten en aanvullende tekst.
De CCS 1T-1U ondersteunt ook een fill-to-target-functie . Zodra het geprogrammeerde gewicht of aantal is bereikt, geeft het een signaal met zowel licht als geluid.
